Program Management Services for Iowa

Program management services provided for Iowa's Department on Aging who works to empower older adults to maintain their independence, advocate for their rights, safety, and well-being, and support policies, programs, and wellness initiatives that benefit aging Iowans. Analysis of Iowa’s Department on Aging’s policies and programming to improve operational processes and collaboration with Iowa’s six Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs). The AAAs provide a range of services and programs for older Iowans, such as nutrition, information and assistance, caregiver support, home modification, legal assistance, abuse prevention, and more.

Results

Program management assistance resulted in documentation of and recommendations to improve processes that coordinate guidance and support from the state and services provided by AAAs to Iowa’s aging and disabled citizens.  The work also included a financial sustainability analysis and reporting that examined how Iowa can continue providing aging services across the state given the threat, at the time, of declining availability of public and private funds.
